Hi Murad Ali,
I don't have anything to do with organizing this conference, and unfortunately I don't know more than what's in their website. Maybe you can try to contact Milverton Wallace or Györgyi Rétfalvi who are listed as authors of the conference call.
Hilde

Hehe. Yes, I've also heard stories about girls breaking the "rules" when playing with typical girls' toys. That's the way to go girls!
I read the Desperate Housewives game as being marketed towards adults, those who have seen the TV series. And adult women have been recognised as a large and eager group of gamers in recent years.
I don't really mean to say that every case of using traditional ways of seeing gender is bad. Girls and women are definitely not a homogenous group, and some probably feel at home within a traditional or stereotypical perception of gender.
But I still get this bad taste in my mouth from a game targeting women because they probably like being housewives. No matter how exciting lives the Desperate housewives live, the concept itself rather refers to the low/un-paid labour women have done for their family. You don't have to go far back in time before it was expected that women would quit their job or education when they got married, to stay home and act as proper housewives. Being a housewife has for a lot of women been either a barrier to a professional life, or it adds to it, giving many women a double workload.
